English Language Homestay

From the moment you arrive at your homestay, you will be encouraged to speak English, whether you come with a group of friends or travel independently as a student. Your tutor and other students in the programme will communicate with one another in English throughout the experience.

By the end of this immersive journey, you will be significantly more confident in your listening and speaking skills, as this will be your primary means of communication. More importantly, we hope you will develop a passion for the language and overcome any previous inhibitions.

With so many interesting and fun lessons and trips, you will soon feel at home with your tutor and the other students.

This unique learning environment not only enhances your language skills but also provides a rich cultural and social experience, fostering a lifelong passion for learning languages.

During your Homestay, you will reside in your tutor’s lovely home in Oxfordshire, a spacious house in a village equipped with modern amenities, including five-star living accommodations, super-fast Wi-Fi, and multimedia equipment.

You will benefit from a secure environment under the care of your tutor and their family. This setting provides an excellent opportunity to practice English in the comfort of your tutor’s family home.

Meals will be home-cooked to cater to all dietary needs. After structured morning tuition with other homestay students, you will embark on afternoon excursions around Oxford and the Cotswolds, practising the language in real-life situations. You can relax in the family home with other students and share your experiences in English.

Our Homestay programmes are organised and planned months in advance. As some students require visas to travel, trips and outings need to be booked, the curriculum must be designed, and plans for excursions must be made, along with many other important aspects of the programme that need to be considered.

The admissions team at Oxford Language Nest meticulously reviews the applications of students who have applied for a place in a Homestay programme. Based on the applicants’ English proficiency levels, ages, and interests, we select four to six students to participate in the Homestay programme. This enrolment process ensures that the homestay programmes are well-balanced and suitable for each student, making certain that beginners are not placed in advanced English courses.

After trying other summer camps in the UK (precisely in Eastbourne and Brighton), we experienced the Homestay with Vicky and her family, which was our best experience in the UK. 

Compared with classic summer camps, the children felt much better (healthy food and snacks were always available, as well as clean towels and hygiene products). The house was big, clean, and safe, and the environment was very friendly and focused on each student.  

They offer an immersive experience, and students practice English the entire day with a full program (morning lessons and afternoon activities) with Vicky. 

On the contrary, at summer camps, a few hours in the afternoons were free, and my children ended up spending time with friends of the same nationality.
