Students over 18 are, of course, entitled to bring their computers, laptops, smartphones, and other devices, and are encouraged to use them safely and lawfully during their homestay. Students will be discouraged from using these devices during formal tuition in the mornings unless it is a requirement of the academic curriculum.

Students under the age of 18 will be under the care and guidance of their homestay tutor, who will act as a parental figure. It is at the discretion of parents or tutors whether their child, aged between 14 and 18, is allowed to bring laptops, iPads, or smartphones. For children below this age, we recommend against travelling with smartphones, iPads, or computers.

Students under 14 will be allowed to phone their parents daily around 6:30 p.m. or at a time when the parents are available, with the agreement of the homestay host. A WhatsApp group will be established for this age group of students to share photographs of their tuition and trips, ensuring their parents are aware of and can enjoy the homestay programme from afar. This is typically a very popular and successful initiative. Please contact us for individual requests.
